Owner Relations Analyst

EAG is starting the search for an Owner Relations Analyst to join our team.

This role is responsible for performing verification of owner’s information in multiple systems, updating mailing addresses or ACH information, along with creating new Business Associates (BA) numbers. They will also assess all requests that come to Owner Relations and route Accounting and Land questions to the correct individual handling the client account as appropriate. The person in this role is expected to demonstrate daily the appropriate analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills to fulfill the responsibilities outlined below and generate quality results.

Strong time management, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization, are essential along with the ability to work as part of a team. All members of the EAG team are expected to actively participate in our team environment, communicate with our customers in a professional and service-oriented manner, and identify process improvement and optimization opportunities. As EAG continues to grow, members must be able to manage changing priorities, new challenges, and multi-tasking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with working interest and royalty interest owners, routing their inquiries to Revenue, JIB or AP within the organization for resolution.
  • Assess, direct and follow-up as necessary on all customer communications.
  • Analyze and review the setup and maintenance of all the new and existing business associates including vendors, service providers, joint interest owners, and royalty owners in the business associate database.
  • Verify addresses for undeliverable checks and collaborate with the appropriate division order analyst to ensure the owner account is in suspense.
  • Interact with Division Order, Lease Records and Accounting resources to resolve questions related to business associate setup or payment processing issues.
  • Support internal and external audits; perform routine review and remediation of SOC/Operational Controls to ensure compliance.
  • Support the yearly 1099 reporting process.
  • Follow processes and procedures to drive low case count and time to resolution.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI and SharePoint.

Position, Experience, and Educational Requirements (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years’ related oil and gas industry experience preferred (e.g., accounting, division order, risk management, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of 1099 reporting and how BA setup/changes impact that reporting.
  • Experience working in a call center/help desk environment is ideal.
  • Experience utilizing the following accounting software and tools a plus: Quorum on Demand Accounting, Quorum on Demand Land, Quorum Enterprise, Enertia, M-Files, Open Invoice, or ConnectWise Manage
  • Organizational skills with strong verbal and written communication required.
  • Enterprising spirit and initiative-taking.
  • Aptitude to learn modern technology, products, and concepts.
  • Must be based in Houston.

Work Environment:

The selected candidate will work in our downtown Houston office on a hybrid schedule, onsite 3 days/week and remote two days/week. People are EAG’s most valuable asset.
