Senior Financial Analyst

EAG is starting the search for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our team.

This role is responsible for monthly, quarterly and annual financial accounting and reporting activities for the Business Process Outsourcing team. The person in this role is expected to demonstrate daily the appropriate analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills to fulfill the responsibilities outlined below and generate quality results.

Strong time management, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization, are essential along with the ability to work as part of a team. All members of the EAG team are expected to actively participate in our team environment, communicate with our customers in a professional and service-oriented manner, and identify process improvement and optimization opportunities. As EAG continues to grow, members must be able to handle changing priorities, new challenges, and multi-tasking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and record journal entries.
  • Prepare timely and thorough balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare and tie-out monthly, quarterly, and annual close reporting.
  • Provide ad hoc data and analytics for clients.
  • Assist with yearly 1099 reporting activities, as needed.
  • Assist your Manager with projects and other tasks as needed.
  • Support Management with audit documentation and assist with audit inquiries.
  • Perform Backup of Treasury function as needed/requested, including recording cash deposits, completing bank account reconciliations monthly, and submitting Positive Pay and ACH files to client banks.
  • Ensure accounting closing schedules are met.
  • Demonstrate strong expertise in Microsoft Excel and Power Pivot.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications specifically Word, PowerPoint, PowerBI and SharePoint.

Position, Experience, and Educational Requirements (Minimum Qualifications):

  • BA or BS Degree in Accounting is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in Corporate Accounting is required.
  • Experience with Sales Tax and related monthly/quarterly payments and submissions a plus.
  • Experience with any of the following ERPs is desirable: NetSuite, Quorum On Demand, Quorum Enterprise, or Enertia.
  • Oil and gas accounting knowledge a nice to have.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and self-motivated
  • Aptitude to learn new technology, products, and concepts
  • Must be based in Houston.

Work Environment:

The selected candidate will work in our downtown Houston office on a hybrid schedule, onsite 3 days/week and remote two days/week. People are EAG’s most valuable asset.
